Pre-RPL Self Assessment

Use this quick self-assessment to decide whether Recognition of Prior Learning may be suitable for your skills, knowledge and existing workplace evidence.

Before you begin: RPL requires you to provide evidence that demonstrates your existing skills and knowledge against the requirements of nationally accredited units or qualifications.
1

What evidence needs to cover

Each qualification is made up of several units of competency. For each unit, your evidence usually needs to address the following areas.

Performance criteria

These are the individual skills required to perform the competency. There are usually several performance criteria in each unit.

Foundation skills

These include language, literacy, numeracy and employability skills, such as communication, teamwork and digital literacy.

Performance and knowledge evidence

These describe the specific skills, quality of performance and depth of knowledge that must be proven.

Can you provide evidence of the skills and knowledge required to meet the performance and knowledge evidence of the units of competency?

Examples may include workplace documents, completed projects, supervisor reports, videos, samples of work, position descriptions, licences, professional development records or previous training.

I understand that if my evidence does not fully meet the requirements of a unit, additional evidence or gap assessment activities may be required.
